In September 2024 Muah.AI was breached. Have I Been Pwned lists 1.9 million email addresses exposed alongside the prompts users typed, and classes the leaked data as “AI prompts, email addresses, sexual fetishes.” It flags the breach as sensitive, so your address is not even publicly searchable there.

404 Media, which reviewed the stolen database on 8 October 2024, reported that prompts were tied to email addresses that “appear to be personal accounts” with real names, and that many prompts described child sexual abuse scenarios. The hacker called the site “a handful of open-source projects duct-taped together.”

Muah.AI's administrator told reporters the hack had been noticed about a week earlier and was “likely sponsored by competitors,” and that “AI technology should be for everyone.” By 11 October 2024, leaked addresses were reportedly being used in extortion attempts.

Muah.AI's own site publishes no plan prices. It says “Feature access and generation limits vary by plan” and tells you to check the app for “total price, and billing period.” The same page carries the warning “NOT ALLOWED: Any child prompt = SUSPENSION!!!”
